Join us for our always-popular Welcome Back Shabbat dinner on Friday January 20! Click HERE to RSVP!
This one will be extra special because…. we’ll be celebrating Bama’s big win of the BCS National Championship!
It’s also 80s vs 90s Shabbat, which means: wear clothes from your favorite decade; prizes will be awarded for best outfits. There will also be fun games and a really delicious shabbat dinner.
We’ll also be announcing the Wii games that we will be adding to our new gaming collection– all based on your votes…. plus announce which student wins a $25 gift card. Click here to see more about our new Wii!
We’ve also got an exciting new program to tell you about at dinner: Bama Hillel is working with BCI, a summer program in Southern California, to send Bama Hillel students to BCI’s incredible three-week experience for young Jewish adults (ages 18-26).
Amanda Gropper from BCI will be with us at Shabbat and will tell us more about the program. If you apply by the early-bird deadline of March 14, 2012, the cost of the program is only $250 – and BCI will reimburse you for your airfare!
Even better– Bama Hillel and the Birmingham Jewish Federation are offering four grants of $200 to help cover your costs. So you could spend three weeks in California for just $50!! See below for more information, and come to Shabbat on January 20 to learn more. Amanda will also be speaking individually with students on Jan. 20 from 4:30-5, 5-5:30 and after dinner. Email BamaHillel@gmail.com to set up your meeting with Amanda!
