Dear Friends of Bama Hillel,
Thank you for your support throughout these difficult times. Over the past few months, we have worked hard to sustain Bama Hillel operations and plan for the future. We had wonderful support through the Global Giving campaign and currently still have matching dollars available through the Eliza and Hugh Culverhouse challenge grant. There is still time to have your donation dollars doubled!
Plan for Return
Bama Hillel will resume full (socially distanced) operations when classes begin on Wednesday, August 19th. We have spent a great amount of time and resources to create the safest environment possible for our students. A few items to note:
-A team of individuals worked to create a Covid-19 reopening plan with the assistance and review of a medical advisory committee.
-Hillel staff has undergone training on safety protocol, cleaning, and sanitation standards.
-The Bloom Hillel building layout and furniture has been revamped to provide programming both indoors and outdoors.
-Bama Hillel has invested more than $10,000 in reopening supplies, including sanitation stations, supplies, to-go items, shabbat in a box, and furniture to support social distancing practice both indoors and in the outdoor space.
-Additional intern hours have been hired to staff multiple seatings (three seatings per event) to ensure social distancing and time for cleaning between seatings.
Opening Events
We can’t wait to see our student back on campus! While we are very excited about the start of the semester, we will see a few changes as we hold our events in accordance with safety protocol for events during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In addition to socially distancing, masks must be worn in the building, and strict capacity caps will be implemented. Events will take place with staggered start times to help reach capacity standards. Each week, participants MUST SIGN UP for a specific time slot and show Bama Hillel Staff the confirmation email for entrance. This may take a little time to get used to, but with a little patience and safe practices, we will have a fall semester to remember. 🙂 Simply click on the link below to start the sign up process.
