2014 Jewish Food Festival March 9th!

1505108_10152176604059909_1007219939_nMarch 9, 2014, will mark the return of Tuscaloosa’s beloved Jewish Food Festival. For ten years, the Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-El hosted a jam-packed reception on the opening night of the Jewish Film Festival. Now, the Food Festival is back by popular demand!

When: Sunday, March 9, 12:30p.m–2:30p.m.
Where: Temple Emanu-­‐El, 809 4th Ave.,
(across the courtyard from Bloom Hillel)

What: Lunch boxes and sampler foods inspired by delis and Jewish cuisine around the world (eat in or take out)  The new and expanded menu will feature both boxed lunches and the famous sampler variety bar. Foods available at the festival for eating in or taking out include:
BRISKET PLATTER – Jewish-style roasted and sliced beef brisket, Potato kugel (traditional casserole), Vinegar-based cole slaw
DELI SANDWICH BOX – Corned beef on rye bread , Slaw, Chips, & a Pickle
MEDITERRANEAN SANDWICH BOX, Fresh falafel with pita, Hummus, Tabboleh

The legendary SAMPLER BAR will include a wide assortment of other Jewish foods, including such favorites as: Matzah Ball Soup, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Gefilte Fish, Chopped Liver, Israeli Salad , and Challah.

And famous sweets like macaroons, baklava, and chocolate babka! Seating will be available in the Bloom Hillel Center, 380 9th Street (next door to Temple Emanu-El).

FREE PARKING in the temple/Hillel lot. Don’t miss out on this highly anticipated event.
