ROLL TIDE!!! Bama Hillel congratulates the Crimson Tide on #14 and prepares for an exciting Spring 2012

Congratulations to the ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE for their 21-0 win over LSU at the BCS Championship! #14! Keep celebrating the championship all spring at Bama Hillel. Our exciting semester kicks off this week!

We’ll be welcoming students from Illinois Hillel for dinner on January 13, they will be here in Tuscaloosa for a Tornado relief project. Click here for the Facebook event page and to RSVP! Our guests will lead a shabbat service starting at 4:15, and dinner will be served at 5:30 pm.

Our popular Welcome Back Shabbat will be on January 20– with a new theme: 80s vs 90s! Join us for a fabulous dinner, games, and prizes for the best outfits.  Plus…. we will have a special guest at dinner who will be talking about an amazing summer experience open to our students. Do you want to spend three weeks in Southern California this summer?! Interested in earning college credit, and meet dozens of other young Jewish adults from around the country? You can, for as little as $50. Find out more at Shabbat dinner on January 20!

Wednesday lunches will continue every week–  stop by any time  between 11:30 and 1pm for a free and delicious lunch, starting January 18.

We are also adding some new events– our first ever Zumba class will be at Hillel on Monday, January 23 at 8pm. It’s open to all so please bring friends! Click HERE to RSVP and invite friends!

We are adding a monthly Sunday Havdalah brunch; the first one is  planned for January 29 at Noon.

We’ve got a discussion with three rabbis from Birmingham scheduled for February 13. 

Queen Esther’s Spa Day is Sunday, March 4…. free manicures, pedicures, and massages at Bama Hillel! This new event is just a few days before our famous Purim Costume Bash on Tuesday March 6.

Also be on the lookout for the return of Hillel 2.0, the program for grad students, and special events for each class.
